TIER 3: Interpreting Spoken Languages in Education Settings - Advanced Level

SEVEN Modules, live sessions, guest speakers, language-specific mentors, independent activities and final assessment.

2025 Sessions: January 13 - February 24, 2025; live sessions on Mondays (6:30-8:30 pm ET)

September 15 - October 27, 2025; live sessions on Mondays (6:30 pm - 8:30 pm ET)

Translation in Education Settings

Twelve hours of language neutral content (editing tools, semantic/stylistic nuances), and 8 hours of Spanish translation strategies (idiomatic expressions, false cognates, collocations and more).

Language neutral: February 11 - March 18, 2025; live sessions on Tuesdays (4 pm - 6 pm ET) Spanish Translation Focus: March 25 - April 15, 2025; live sessions on Tuesdays (4 pm - 6 pm ET)

Registration for our virtual course series for spoken language interpreters

Expand your skills as a freelance interpreter or bilingual/multilingual school staff member collaborating with schools to provide interpretation services and promote family engagement. NAETISL offers a series of virtual courses with live sessions and independent work facilitated by a team of expert trainers and language mentors. Our courses focus on professional ethics and standards of practice, consecutive and simultaneous interpreting skills, general and special education terminology, remote/hybrid interpreting, glossary-building activities, and opportunities for continuing education. The course series includes skill-building practice in small groups with language-specific mentors and expert guest speakers.

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) recently announced a competitive grant program to fund the training of spoken language interpreters

NAETISL is now an approved provider of training for spoken language interpreters for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). We are currently offering summer, fall and winter courses which are open to enrollees from all districts in MA. School districts can enroll participants at district cost or apply for a competitive grant through DESE (FY2025: Interpreter in the Education Setting Training Fund Code: 0199)

Language-specific interpretation and translation practice sessions for beginner, intermediate and advanced professionals working in early childhood and K-12 settings!
